About Water Kefir Grains

The word Keif means a state of "feeling good".

Water Kefir grains, often referred to as "SCOBYs" (i.e. symbiotic culture of bacteria & yeast) are a collective relationship of many different strains of beneficial bacteria and yeast which produce lactic acid, carbon dioxide and ethanol as they consume the sugars.  Research has shown that the symbiotic bacteria and yeast help to fight off dangerous bacteria, mold, and harmful yeast.
